We have tried to answer the most common questions.

How Can I Book an Appointment?

We currently do not offer an online booking service, due to our large clientele. We believe that each service is tailored to the individual and it is best to book your appointment through contact over the phone or with our contact forms on our website. If your preferred date isn’t available, please ask us to be put on the waiting list as cancellation's can be common.

Why is my final price different from the original quote?

Over the phone and rough quotes are based on the basic components of each service. Your final quote on the day may vary depending on additional inclusions, such as tip-outs, freehand techniques, or lowlights. If requested, a complete quote will be provided before starting your service.

How come seeing an emerging stylist changes the price?

Nesbitt offer services at a reduced rate with our emerging stylist's who are still refining their skills. Prices for these services may increase depending on additional inclusions, similar to standard packages.

Can I book an appointment with Lee?

Lee is unable to accept new clients due to limited availability. If you’d like, we’d be happy to recommend another stylist suited to your needs. Simply call us at 02 4927 0075.

Cancellations & Deposits

Cancellations

Appointments cannot be canceled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time. No-shows will incur a $50 charge to secure their next appointment.

Deposits

A non-refundable $50 deposit is required to secure an appointment if you are a new client. This deposit will move alongside your appointment if you need to reschedule. If the appointment is cancelled, you will forego the deposit.

Parking at Darby

For your convenience, parking around our Darby Street salon is readily available. On Railway Street (Cooks Hill), just one street over from Darby, you'll find all-day parking spots, making it perfect for longer visits. These parking spots are popular for Cooks Hill locals and are not always available. Additionally, there are all-day parks down at Parry Street, offering more options for your convenience. Darby Street itself offers 1-hour and 2-hour timed parking spots, with no fees required—just be mindful of the time limits. Please note that all parking is monitored by the council, and while you may be lucky enough to avoid fines if the council isn’t actively enforcing, we cannot guarantee this. Please be aware that Nesbitt Hair Salon does not cover any fines incurred during your visit. We recommend arriving a little earlier to ensure a spot and avoid any parking-related stress.

Parking at Railway

At our Nesbitt on Railway salon in Merewether, we offer the convenience of free street parking right outside. However, spaces are limited due to our location next to the popular Mary Ellen Hotel, so we recommend allowing extra time to find a parking spot. We want to make your visit as stress-free as possible, so planning ahead for parking will ensure a smoother experience from start to finish.

Can I refill my products?

Yes, we do! At Nesbitt, we offer refills for all EverEscents and Clever Curl products. Not only is this a great way to top up your favourite haircare essentials, but you’ll also receive 10% off every time you refill.

Refilling helps reduce single-use plastic waste, making it a simple but impactful way to care for the environment. By reusing your bottles, you're helping to lower the demand for new packaging and contributing to a more sustainable future.

It’s a unique service that not many salons offer, and we’re proud to provide this option for our clients. Together, we can support eco-friendly choices without compromising on quality haircare. Just bring your clean, empty bottles back into the salon and we’ll take care of the rest!

I just booked a curly hair cut. What should I expect?

We’re so excited to look after your curls! Our Curly Haircuts are a specialised service—this is not a traditional or standard haircut. We cut your hair curl by curl, working with your hair in its natural curly state to create the best shape for your unique curl pattern.

Here’s what you can expect:
✨ We start by cutting your curls dry, curl by curl, so we can see how each curl naturally sits.
✨ After the dry cut, we move to a shampoo and diffuse dry.
✨ During the styling, we’ll talk you through how we recommend caring for and styling your curls using our favourite Clever Curl products.

Important! To get the best result from your appointment, we kindly ask:
✔️ Arrive with your hair down—please don’t have it tied up or pulled back.
✔️ Your hair should be relatively clean, not overly dirty.
✔️ Come with your hair styled how you wear it most days. This helps us understand your curl pattern and tailor your haircut perfectly to your natural hair.
